Thanksgiving Week
During my Thanksgiving break, I spent the first day of the week with my father. We went to the L.A. Auto Show, as me and my sisters haven’t been able to go for a while now. This year I went with my father, Colette, Diana, and Nick. Later on that day we went to La Ocha to eat, eventually going to the observatory. It was cold that night, the observatory was also closed so we walked around it. It was nice to go out at night and look at all the city lights.
I don't really remember what we did in Tuesday or Wednesday. But on Thanksgiving me and my little sister, Diana, had spent the day with my father and his girlfriend’s family. While my older sister, Poleth, stayed with my mother and little brother Ezekiel. We had to wait to eat until 6:30 p.m., but even after we had finished praying. I overestimated myself, as I was only able to eat one plate. The plate I was served was with ham, turkey, rice, and mashed potatoes. This was all very delicious, especially Colette’s homemade pumpkin flan. After most of us finished eating, nearly all the girls there played Loteria. I fell at one point, which made everyone laugh, but it was okay.
The next day, I was dropped  off with my mom so I can get ready to go out with Nick. Diana came along which I didn’t mind, I was just excited to give him his early surprise. It was a crocheted amigurumi Charizard, which I made. He loved it, which I made me glad. All three of us walked to Tutti Frutti so Diana could get some dessert. A while later we walked to the Memorial Park, and Diana took a nap until we had to leave at 3 o'clock.
Me and my sisters had spent the weekend with my father. On Saturday we had went out shopping for Christmas tree ornaments. But before this, we had gone to Colette’s parents’ house to watch movies. We had watched Toy Story 2, and a little bit of The Incredibles. As we ended up finding cute homemade-like knit and felt ornaments. I got to pick one ornament I liked of any kind. I picked a red robot ornament, it had reminded me of Nick so I chose it. Then on Sunday night we had ordered pizza and had went to Home Depot to pick the tree. It was a Noble Fir that was I believe 7’. When we got home we had put the lights and ornaments on the tree. Then finally painted and decorated our wooden initials that are to be ornaments. This weekend was actually really fun, and I thank God for blessing me with another year with my family. I thank God for Nick also, as this year was a nice year.

Manners
                   “Manners maketh man.”
                                      -William Wykeham

A person who has the decency to show manners shows who they are. As Wykeham’s quote  makes someone a person. I know it make not make sense, but it is the truth. One is not seen as a person when they do not show any manners. This is why “manners maketh man”, it's best to understand it this way. But if you were to often be rude to someone, then you are never truly seen as a person. Which you then gain the bad reputation. This quote is only good for one to understand, it allows them to see how one is seen with GOOD manners.

“Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or losing.”
Chick Moorman

Doing what is best and honorable just shows that you’re a better person. This is through not thinking you receive gain. But you instead win by your actions, seeing that you thought what is best. To know what is best and to do that is to be the better person. As it's fair to everyone even you. You even show honor in your family as they’ve taught you better. Just try to make the better decisions. As they’re right, fair, and honorable, which is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Veteran’s Day
Veteran’s Day is a federal holiday to honor the brave men and women of armed forces, as they risk their lives to protect our own freedom. This day recognizes ALL those who honorably served in the military. It is to thank those veterans for their brave acts contributing to our nation.
This federal holiday is celebrated on the 11th of November. The date was chosen from 1919 in order to honor the soldiers in World War 1. Being that day in 1918 at 11:00 AM, Germany and the Allied nations reached a cease-fire. This is led to the end as many call the “Great War”.
It is to commemorate and thank those brave men and women who risked their lives to protect others. As they have all contributed in helping all the country’s citizens their freedom.
To those who volunteered as soldiers in battles, as well as in peace. Those who fought for our country deserve and shall be recognized on November 11th.
You can show respect and/or honor a veteran on 11/11 by:
  • Saying “thank you”
  • Donate to the USO
  • Volunteer at local USO Chapter
  • Acknowledge the soldiers who served our country even if they didn’t fight in a foreign war
  • Placing flowers on the graves of veterans
  • Proudly display your American flag
  • Teach your children about Veteran’s Day  and how thankful one should be for their service
  • Display a yellow ribbon on clothes, car, or around a tree
  • Attend a Veteran’s Day parade
I do not have any known family members that were veterans. Although I thank those who have served our country, they have all contributed and helped our nation.
I didn’t fully understand the purpose of Veteran’s Day before. Now I see how some veterans are unappreciated. I thank those soldiers that have served our country and helped in keeping our freedom

Magic Keys
1. Have the courage to say no.
2. Have the courage to face the truth.
3. Do the right thing because it is right.
These are the 3 magic keys to living your life with integrity."
-W.Clement Stone
In order to live the better life and maintain on a good path, one must follow these key actions. To be and show that you have strong morals and principles, you may do these things listed. As W.Clement Stone here states, these are the 3 Magic Keys to live with integrity. I honestly never fully understood the meaning of having integrity, before I thought it meant to have pride. But it is not that, integrity is to have the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. Stone’s 3 keys are actually the right things to try to follow, although it may be difficult for some people. Choosing the right is to have integrity, and it's best to think you do have it. Even to the point when you stick out, it doesn't matter what others tell you, this is because you have integrity and you show it. Trying to do your best in choosing the right already shows that you can make better decisions, that you have one of the best qualities. This quality is known to be integrity.

“ He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”                                                                                      Proverbs 13:20
When one follows the good and righteous path of wisdom, one grow and learns. Although when one does the complete opposite, it only leads them to their downfall and failure. This may seem too drastic but it's the unfortunate truth. If you were to keep a straight path with others having the same good goals as you it helps. It will only benefit you if you were to do this, it also depends on the person’s reference of choice. As if you were to be surrounded by those who like to ditch class, drink alcohol, not do their work, disrespect their parents, and ingest drugs. This can ONLY lead to the downfall of your said goals for a good future. I believe that this bible verse is true, because all those around you believe it or not… affect the way you act and speak. It is only best to surround yourself with friends that match the same values as you, but to also make sure those values are good.

To Do Good
“ The best recreation is to do good.” - William Penn

Doing good things for others is one of the best things to do when you have nothing else to do. Only the best can come out of doing this, as all you would be doing is helping someone. Doing good doesn't always mean that you’re helping someone, it can mean other things. An example of this can be to play with others and follow the rules, along with showing good sportsmanship. When you’re obedient it means you’re being and doing good. Other than that, one should be trying to do something reproductive and fun. Even that is good to do, as one can always find something to do in their recreational time. All they have to do is decide if it's the good and right thing to do.
