The 10 Indian Commandments
  1. Treat the Earth and all that dwells therein with respect.
  2. Remain close to the Great Spirit
  3. Show great respect to your fellow beings.
  4. Work together for the benefit of all mankind.
  5. Give assistance and kindness whenever needed.
  6. Do what you know to be right.
  7. Look after the well-being of mind and body.
  8. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
  9. Be truthful and honest at all times.
  10. Take full responsibility for your actions.
When it comes to the 10 Commandments, I think of the bible and the story of Moses. I don't mean to offend anyone, I will respect these beliefs. However, when it comes to why you follow something it is because it is the right thing to do. I try to follow the 10 Commandments of the bible, with these being somewhat similar. The main focus of these commandments(above) is to be a better person. These commandments are to show respect to everything and everyone. It is the right thing to do for yourself and others. As the outcomes will only be positive, because it brings unity and kindness among others. So it's better to follow the 10 Commandments, being how you stand and where you come with your heritage.

Goodness

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails."
                                           -Henry David Thoreau

When it comes to doing what is right, it will never negatively affect you. When it comes to business, some investments may fail leading you to learn a few mistakes you made. Many invest their time in their work, and a good outcome happens. Some invest their times in their electronics instead of their work. Nothing positive comes out of this however, as it affects how you are perceived and how you become. Being good is something you can never be tired of, because it will feel good. Goodness, it is something that helps yourself and others. It leaves a memorable impression as well as a better one.

They're Right
"My basic principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make them because they're popular; you make  them because they are right."
-Theodore Hesburgh(Former President of Notre Dame)

This quote shows how the best decisions are the right ones. When making a right decision, you must never care of the popularity you will gain from it. You would be basically coerced into making these choices. Never follow someone over popularity, because many of the choices they make are wrong. As many people choose the simple things, it is not always the right thing to do. All your actions affect you as much as those surrounding you. It is best that you maintain what is right and good. As it will benefit and help you and those around you.

Sound & Good
“ It is our duty to concentrate all of our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound.” (not good)
                                                                     -Joseph Smith
Joseph Smith shows how to be good should be popularized. As many find that the simple and wrong way is the best way. Smith’s statement tells us that we must make what is good and right popular, and make what is wrong unpopular. As choosing what is right should be popularized. One person choosing what is best benefits the individual. All that is good is seen as rewarding for yourself and others. Leaving a good reputation and allowing a person to trust you.
School Break Days
During Spring Break, on April 9th I went to the USC Spring Concert. I went with a few band members to attend the A Night at the Operathemed performance, as the finale of the concert was performed by the university's marching band. The day before that, on Saturday April 8th we went to Chuck e’ Cheese's. There we celebrated my little brother’s 5th birthday, it was a small party. The year before we also celebrated his birthday at Chuck e’ Cheese’s. This year he had so many tickets, everyone won a total of 3,000 tickets for him. He was very happy with his gifts and prizes.    Throughout the week, I stayed at home and helped clean the house. I did my chores, then after I would find something to make with the materials I have at home. I made my mom a zippered duct tape cosmetic bag. Then I made a small pillow for myself out soft fleece from a shirt. Then on Thursday, I went out with my boyfriend to the park, and we went to go eat McDonald’s. I spent the weekend with my dad, on Saturday we were at home while my dad worked. Friday we went “candy hunting” with my little brother.  But me and my sisters were with my older brother throughout the day, he had gotten us pizza. Then on Easter Sunday, we went to my stepmother’s parents’ house. There, we had a barbecue and Easter egg which I participated in.

Be True
"I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong."
                                  -Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln shows us how we may and can follow the right person. But if that person were to do something wrong, we must not follow him. Everyone makes mistakes, but some make them by choice. Even if a person who always tries to choose the right chooses the wrong once. Don’t follow that person, because if it tells you in your mind that it wasn’t right then don’t repeat it. As Lincoln states, he will only follow someone when they are right. When the person does something wrong, you will separate from that person and continue choosing the right. Then you will stay in a good path, and not stray away from choosing the right.

Character
"Character is higher than intellect."
                  -Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson shows how the way you act around others matters more. Many people believe value in someone is their intelligence, but that is not true. Intellect is defined as the faculty of reasoning and understanding objectively, especially with regard to abstract or academic matters. While character is defined as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Many people are intelligent, but not many people show good character. You show you're a better person by your actions, not by your intelligence. So it is best to be a person of good character who chooses the right than a person with just intellect.
