“I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right.” -Dean Smith

Dean Smith appears to be a man of humility, as he does not like when one credits him. As he did not plan to leave a legacy, but he only did what was best. He chose the right in coaching the players to do what is best. Smith’s quote shows that fame and legacy is not greater than choosing the right. He did what was right, as he taught his players. This can be an example of choosing the right, as Dean Smith lived his life. This applies to many in their professions, as many can notice that your decisions matter more than fame. So it's best to choose the right.
