Intellect is defined as the faculty of reasoning and understanding objectively, especially with regard to abstract or academic matters. While character is defined as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Many people are intelligent, but not many people show good character. You show you're a better person by your actions, not by your intelligence. So it is best to be a person of good character who chooses the right than a person with just intellect.
