St. Patrick's Day
Hat Saint Patricks DaySt. Patrick was known as the patron saint of Ireland. He was a widely known Christian figure. Although he was not really from the Emerald Isle, he is not Irish. He was born in Britain to a wealthy family, this was near the end of the fourth century. At the age of 16, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders. 6 years in captivity, he turned to his family religion and converted to a devout Christian. He eventually returned to his family, then went back to Ireland. Becoming a missionary and ordained minister until his death in March 17th 460 A.D.
St. Patrick's Day also known as the Feast of St. Patrick Day is a religious and cultural celebration. This day is celebrated every year on the 17th of March. This was the day he died in the year 460 A.D.
March 17th is a day in observance of St. Patrick's Day. As it is to honor the patron saint of Ireland.  

Blue was the original color used for this holiday. Although the nickname of Ireland is the "Emerald Isle", so this changed the color to green as the color's popularity grew on the holiday.
