“True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse.”
-Pathros Patriarch of Antioch & All the East(1846-’94)

When one is acting on kindness and love, their actions are valued. But when one acts for something in return, it is not done so happily. The quote of Pathros states a lot, even for his time. As it is said to not value riches, as they will not always be with you. But your heart and soul will always follow you wherever you go. I really love this quote, it reminds me of a verse relating to this in the bible. You cannot be greedy, and you cannot give with anger or selfish intentions or else what you have done would be meaningless. “For God loves a CHEERFUL giver…”, this would be 2 Corinthians 9:7.  I truly can relate to this, as it’s always valued when you act on love and compassion. But instead seen wrong when wanting riches and gain from that action. You will always be valued from kindness, not by the opposite. I will always remember this quote as well, because it seems to give me understanding.
